Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Endgame has been nominated for an Oscar®. The film was nominated for Best Visual Effects by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences this morning.
Visual effects supervisor Dan DeLeeuw, visual effects supervisor (ILM) Russell Earl, visual effects supervisor (Weta Digital) Matt Aitken, and special effects supervisor Dan Sudick were recognized with the nomination. Congratulations to each of them and their teams!

It would have been nice to see more recognition for Avengers: Endgame from the Academy, but that’s not why Marvel Studios makes these films anyway. The extraordinary efforts of all those who had a hand in making Endgame saw their work validated time and again as the film delivered one of the most memorable cinematic experiences of all time.
Audiences certainly recognized all of the hard work, making Avengers: Endgame the biggest film in the history of the global box office.
