Happy New Year!

WandaVision is much closer than you think. Originally announced for spring 2021, the Marvel Studios series will instead arrive on Disney+ in 2020! Disney made the announcement in a video previewing the streaming service’s 2020 slate, along with an accompanying press release.

No other information was given, so we don’t know what month or season in 2020 will bring us the WandaVision premiere. We can, however, take an educated guess and expect it to arrive in the third or (more likely) fourth quarter of the year.

The series started production soon after cameras started rolling on The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, which will debut on Disney+ this fall. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier is shown ahead of WandaVision in the video and press release, so it’s probably still the first Marvel Studios series arriving on the streaming service.

WandaVision will premiere some time after The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, perhaps around the time Marvel’s second feature film of the year, The Eternals, hits theaters on November 6. Either way, we’re getting WandaVision months earlier than we thought and that is incredible news to start the new year!

In 2020, Disney+ subscribers can look forward to a diverse line-up of new content including the highly anticipated return of Hilary Duff in “Lizzie McGuire,” Marvel Studios’ first original series “The Falcon and the Winter Soldier” and “WandaVision,” the final season of “Star Wars: The Clone Wars,” the Muppets unscripted series “Muppets Now,” original movies “Timmy Failure: Mistakes Were Made,” “Stargirl,” “The Phineas & Ferb Movie: Candace Against the Universe,” and “Secret Society of Second Born Royals,” docuseries “Rogue Trip” and “Becoming,” and season two of hit series “The Mandalorian” and “High School Musical: The Musical: The Series.” Disney+ is also the exclusive streaming home for the biggest blockbuster films from Walt Disney Studios including “Aladdin,” “Toy Story 4,” and “The Lion King.”
