The Black Widow teaser trailer is here! We knew a trailer was close, but there was no official announcement that it would arrive today, as has often been the case with Marvel trailers. Of course, surprises are more fun and Black Widow isn’t known for giving anyone fair warning, so this fits.
The teaser trailer is stunning. Director Cate Shortland is clearly bringing her own unique vision to this story. The action scenes look hard-hitting and visceral. There’s also that spectacular falling bit at the end that could up the ante on the classic “Barrel of Monkeys” sequence from Iron Man 3.
In addition to Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson) and her new white costume, we get to see plenty of new characters Yelena (Florence Pugh), Alexei/The Red Guardian (David Harbour), Melina (Rachel Weisz), and the villainous Taskmaster, who may or may not be Melina. If that’s not enough, we see Secretary of State Thaddeus Ross (William Hurt) presumably enforcing the Sokovia Accords (or using them to compel Natasha to carry out a mission) in this story set between Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War.
Simply put, Black Widow looks awesome! Producer Kevin Feige and the Marvel Studios team are set to kick off Phase Four with a bang!
But that’s not all! Marvel Studios has also released a teaser poster from the film. Download the full-size image below and feel free to update your phone wallpaper accordingly.
Black Widow is in theaters May 1, 2020.
