Black Panther is an Academy Award winner! Ruth E. Carter won the Oscar® for Best Costume Design during tonight’s ceremony. This is the first Oscar® victory in Marvel Studios history.
Carter, the first African-American woman to win this award, did a phenomenal job designing the costumes that we such a vital part of Black Panther‘s ability to transport audiences to Wakanda. Carter’s contribution to the film, which was nominated for seven Oscars®, was invaluable.
