Disney California Adventure will have plenty to Marvel at in the foreseeable future. Earlier this year, the A Bug’s Life section of the park was closed and it is now being converted to a space that will cater to Marvel fans. Marvel Super Hero Land, as it’s unofficially being called, will be right next to Guardians of the Galaxy- Mission: BREAKOUT! and the first attraction details have emerged!

WDW News Today has the scoop on the first couple phases of Marvel Super Hero Land. There will be a big Avengers “A” at the center of the area. In addition to Mission: BREAKOUT!, there will be an Avengers-themed roller coaster. We already knew that, but apparently, the coaster will be indoors, like Space Mountain over in Disneyland’s Tomorrowland.

Spider-Man is getting an interactive screen attraction in the former “It’s Tough to be a Bug” Theater. It could be comparable to Toy Story Midway Mania. Doctor Strange won’t have a ride, but he will teach park guests the mystic arts in a stage show.

Marvel fans (21 and over) who get thirsty walking around Marvel Super Hero Land can cool off with an Ant-Man microbrew. There will, of course, be plenty of other food and beverage options in the area, as well as shopping. A big store is also planned with plenty of Marvel merchandise.

WDW News Today says they’ve confirmed this through internal documents, so it goes well beyond mere rumor. Marvel Super Hero Land is going to open in two phases. The first phase begins in 2020 with the second phase to follow a year or two later. The Avengers ride is part of the phase two plan, so don’t get in line just yet.

All of this news sounds really exciting! We’re still a couple years away from all the fun starting, but it sounds like Marvel Super Hero Land will be worth the wait!
