Peter Parker is going to have some wardrobe changes in Spider-Man: Far From Home. In addition to the suit he got from Tony Stark in Captain America: Civil War, Spidey will have a black costume and, based on new set photos, a third design.

Tom Holland and Zendaya were spotted on set in New York, where Far From Home is on its last leg of filming. In the scene, Holland’s Spider-Man appears to take off with Zendaya’s Michelle (her friends call her MJ). It’s a classic Spidey move in an almost classic Spidey costume, save for the red and black color scheme.

This costume is reminiscent of the Superior Spider-Man suit from the comics a few years ago. In that storyline, Otto Octavius (Doctor Octopus) inhabited the body of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. I don’t think we’re going to see a body takeover here, as Marvel Studios probably just liked the suit design because, well, it is very cool.

The Superior Spider-Man suit had multiple iterations. Predominantly, there was a much larger spider emblem on the chest, which the Far From Home Version does not have. The red and black coloring, however, was consistent in the comics and we’re going to see that in the MCU.

There is also a white spider emblem on the back of this new suit. It’s going to remind a lot of people of the new Spider-Man (PS4) video game, though again, Marvel Studios hasn’t gone as big with it.
