The following article contains spoilery videos and images from Spider-Man: Far From Home.

Marvel Studios never officially announced Jake Gyllenhaal as Mysterio in Spider-Man: Far From Home, but his involvement in the film is hardly a state secret. The real question is just how much Gyllenhaal’s take on the classic Spidey villain will adhere to the source material. Now, we have our answer.

Gyllenhaal was spotted on set this past weekend sporting a full-on caped costume for Mysterio. There was no sign of the fishbowl or any other mask, but by the looks of the scene, this could simply be the “it’s all gone to hell” unmasked moment for the villain, otherwise known as Quentin Beck.

As with most superhero/villain costumes these days, there will probably be some digital enhancements added later, but this already looks pretty great.

The first video also includes a look at what fans have dubbed the “stealth suit” for Spider-Man. The costume is black, but more Spider-Man Noir than symbiote so don’t worry about a Venom crossover.

Spider-Man: Far From Home, out July 5, 2019, is shaping up nicely. It’s one fishbowl away from being perfect.
