Spider-Man: Far From Home is in production and a few Marvel Cinematic Universe mainstays are now on set. We learned last month that Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and Maria Hill (Cobie Smulders) would be in the film. Now it appears another long-time MCU veteran will be back another adventure (potential spoilers ahead).
A Reddit user spotted Jackson and Smulders on set and captured some video.
Another Reddit user captured video featuring not only Jackson and Smulders, but an additional veteran who’s been part of the MCU from the beginning. Do not watch the video if you do not wish to know who it is.
That sure looks like Happy Hogan talking to Fury and Hill! Jon Favreau appears to be reprising the role he’s played in several Marvel Studios movies, including Far From Home‘s predecessor, Spider-Man: Homecoming.
This raises some interesting questions. If Far From Home indeed takes place after Avengers 4, is Happy Hogan still serving as Spider-Man’s handler? If so, does that mean Tony Stark has survived the final confrontation with Thanos and is still in the picture (and maybe even in this movie)?
It is also possible, though, that this scene is all we’ll see of Happy in Far From Home. This may be Happy handing off oversight of Spider-Man to Fury and Hill. He could be giving Fury and Hill some background information on Peter Parker so they know what to expect.
We’re still at least a few months from getting a trailer, so we’re nowhere near getting answers to these questions. In the meantime, enjoy speculating!
