Spider-Man: Far From Home is currently in production and rounding out its cast. The Marvel Studios production has added Numan Acar as a character named Dimitri. Nothing else is known about the character besides the name, but it does hint at a classic Spidey villain.
Dimitri Smerdyakov is the name of the Chameleon, a villain that first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #1 in 1963. Jake Gyllenhaal remains in talks to play Mysterio, Michael Keaton is returning and the Vulture, and we still have Shocker (Bokeem Woodbine) and eventual Scorpion Mac Gargan (Michael Mando) in prison.
If Acar is playing Chameleon, Marvel Studios and Sony Pictures will be one baddie away from completing a Sinister Six for the Marvel Cinematic Universe!
Of course, Acar could just be playing some other random guy named Dimitri, so we should not get too far ahead of ourselves. Before Spider-Man: Far From Home, Acar will be seen in Disney’s live-action Aladdin next May.
