Another major milestone has fallen before the might of Marvel Studios. Avengers: Infinity War has officially crossed $2 billion at the worldwide box office. It is just the fourth film to ever reach that mark and the first since Star Wars: The Force Awakens.
Infinity War has already been Marvel Studios’ top global performer for a few weeks, after surpassing The Avengers ($1.52B). At that time, it also became the highest-grossing film ever based on comic book superheroes.
Avengers: Infinity War was billed as the biggest Marvel movie ever, uniting Earth’s Mightiest Heroes with the Guardians of the Galaxy to take on Thanos. Directors Joe and Anthony (along with writers Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely) delivered an epic sure to stand the test of time, and we will be reminded of its accomplishments when we look at top global grossers for years to come.
This latest Marvel Studios success story has indeed been well-earned.
