Avengers: Infinity War had the best Monday in history for the month of April. The film added $24.7M to its domestic box office total, which now stands at $282M. Worldwide, Infinity War has amassed $725M, which pushes Marvel Studios over $2B for the year.
Between Black Panther ($1.33B) and Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel Studios has now brought in $2.06B in 2018. The studio will not even need to wait for Ant-Man and the Wasp to hit theaters in July in order to set a new personal best for annual box office.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Thor: Ragnarok combined to earn just under $2.6B to give Marvel Studios their best year ever in 2017. Black Panther and Avengers: Infinity War will be able to surpass that number and perhaps $3B worldwide.
Even if Black Panther and Infinity War don’t add up to $3B, Ant-Man and the Wasp will guarantee that Marvel Studios reaches that milestone in 2018.
