Marvel Studios received a pleasant surprise via a record opening weekend for Avengers: Infinity War. The studio’s 19th featured film hauled in over $250M in North America and over $640M worldwide. Those totals broke the records respectively held by Star Wars: The Force Awakens ($248M) and The Fate of the Furious (#541.9M).

Studio president Kevin Feige is feeling a lot of things today, but mostly gratitude. He released a letter today thanking all of the people who’ve built the Marvel Cinematic Universe into what it is today and the fans who’ve embraced it over the past decade.

There is much to celebrate at the Marvel Studios offices in Burbank today, but it’s really great to see Feige take the time for this Thank You note.

Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go see Avengers: Infinity War again.
