Avengers: Infinity War only needed six hours to become the best pre-selling superhero movie in Fandango history, best Black Panther. The movie still does not hit theaters for two more weeks and while it cannot rank any higher than first place, it can and will continue to distance itself from the rest of the pack.
Avengers: Infinity War has now pre-sold more tickets than the last seven Marvel Studios movies combined. That includes all films in Phase Three of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, beginning with Captain America: Civil War, and the last film of Phase Two, Ant-Man.
It is an absolutely staggering feat that suggests Infinity War could end up with the biggest opening weekend in Marvel Studios history. The studios previous best is $207.4M, set by The Avengers in 2012. Infinity War is tracking for over $200M in its first three days and it looks like the film will go well over that already incredible milestone.
