Avengers: Infinity War is bringing in big money with just over five weeks to go until it hits theaters. It only took six hours for the film to sell more advanced tickets than any other superhero film in Fandango history. The same is true at AMC Theatres, but in a much bigger way now.

AMC is reporting that Avengers: Infinity War pre-sales more than tripled the next closest superhero film, Black Panther, within each film’s first 72 hours of tickets being available. Infinity War was also 0ver 700% ahead of Captain America: Civil War and over 1100% ahead of Avengers: Age of Ultron within the same time period.

Marvel Studios has been very successful in making Avengers: Infinity War feel like a first-time, one-of-a-kind event despite the film being the third chapter of the franchise (and having an immediate follow-up next year).

The idea of bringing heroes together feels new again because so many characters that have been introduced since the first Avengers film will be interacting for the first time. It also helps that so much of Infinity War is set in Wakanda immediately after audiences just fell in love with that new part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Black Panther.

Marvel Studios is celebrating their 10th anniversary this year, but rather than audience interest beginning to fade, it is at an all-time high.
