Sony Pictures is still trying to get all they can out of the Spider-Man license they have from Marvel Entertainment. Their latest developmental project is Nightwatch, which could be directed by Spike Lee.

This is all very early, so there’s no way to know if it’s going to happen. The idea, at least, is that Lee would direct from a script by Luke Cage showrunner Cheo Hodari Coker.

Nightwatch is based on the Marvel character Dr. Kevin Trench, who becomes Nightwatch after witnessing the older version of himself die in the costume and then taking it for his present day self (it’s complicated).

Are you excited about Nightwatch and Spike Lee possibly directing a superhero movie? Let me know in the comments!
