Black Panther is now the third highest grossing movie in North America for Marvel Studios. The film added $8.1M on Monday, raising its domestic total to $411.7M. It now only trails the Avengers movies from Marvel.
Black Panther jumped from fifth to third place on Marvel’s all-time domestic earners by passing Captain America: Civil War ($408.1M) and Iron Man 3 ($409M). Next up on Marvel’s box office rankings are Avengers: Age of Ultron ($459M) and, if this pace continues, The Avengers ($623.4M).
Today Black Panther will surpass Wonder Woman ($412.6M), the film that topped the domestic box office for all superheroes in 2017. Marvel Studios’ 18th feature film will continue its rapid rise up the box office charts in the coming days and weeks.
