Sam Rockwell would love to bring Justin Hammer back to the Marvel Cinematic Universe

Justin Hammer

Sam Rockwell is finally getting the recognition he deserves as one of Hollywood’s best. He’s currently nominated for the Best Supporting Actor Oscar® for his performance in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.

Rockwell hasn’t forgotten his Marvel Cinematic Universe past, however, and would appreciate a return trip as he tells The Hollywood Reporter.

Of course! I have some great buddies in that franchise. Jeremy Renner is a good friend of mine, and I am pals with Chris Evans and Mark Ruffalo. Robert [Downey Jr.] is always fun. Would love to get me and Clark [Gregg] back in that franchise. That would be a lot of fun.

Rockwell played Justin Hammer in Iron Man 2, the villain that actually ended up working the best in that film. He reprised the role briefly in the Marvel One-Shot, All Hail the King. Hammer hasn’t been seen or heard from since.

The odds of Justin Hammer reappearing aren’t great, at least not for a bit. The Avengers will have bigger problems over the next couple years, but if Hammer can get parole, maybe there’s a small place for him in Phase Four or Five.

Would you like to see Justin Hammer back in the MCU? If so, how would you like to see him brought back into the story? Let me know in the comments!
