One of the biggest and best surprises at last year’s Comic-Con came when Paul Rudd and Michael Peña told the entire story of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It seemed like a reminder for the crowd in Hall H, but that wasn’t it at all.

Rudd and Peña were introducing the MCU to their new Ant-Man and the Wasp castmate, Michelle Pfeiffer!

The crowd of 6,500+ erupted. Pretty much everyone knows how incredible Michelle Pfeiffer is, especially comic book fans. She’ll always be an icon within the superhero genre for her turn as Catwoman in Batman Returns.

Expectations are high for Pfeiffer’s portrayal of the original Wasp, Janet van Dyne. As Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige tells Vulture, that’s right where our expectations should be.

“I don’t want to say too much, but I will say that’s she’s every bit as iconic and amazing in this part as you would imagine. People ask sometimes about movie stars and star power and who’s the most exciting person to be around, and the truth is that once you get to know them as people, they don’t feel like movie stars — everybody is just a super-impressive human. But in a room full of movie stars, Michelle Pfeiffer rises to the top.”

Pfeiffer was in a room full of movie stars for the Marvel Studios 10th anniversary class photo last October. According to Feige, Pfeiffer was the one who left all the other famous faces completely star-struck.

“You can tell how big Michelle is because all the other movie stars are going, ‘Is that Michelle Pfeiffer over there?’”

Yes, that was Michelle Pfeiffer and fans can’t wait to see her MCU debut in Ant-Man and the Wasp, in theaters July 6.
