Marvel is set to expand their footprint in Disney Parks worldwide. New attractions and updates on existing projects were announced last weekend during D23 Expo Japan. There will be plenty of Marvel to experience at Disney Parks in the next few years and we’ve got some terrific concept art!

After the successful launch of Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: BREAKOUT! at Disney’s California Adventure, a new Guardians ride was announced for Epcot at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida. We now know that it is going to be “one of the longest enclosed roller coasters in the world.” Sounds like a Guardians-inspired version of Space Mountain!

Ant-Man and the Wasp has inspired a second Marvel attraction for Hong Kong Disneyland (the first being the Iron Man Experience). Marvel fans will “be able to team up with Ant-Man and The Wasp to fight Arnim Zola and his army of Hydra swarm bots.”

Based on the concept art, this looks a lot like the Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters ride at Disneyland and other parks. It’s interesting to see Ant-Man and the Wasp battling Arnim Zola, a character that’s only appeared in the Captain America franchise. Obviously, Zola has battled several other Marvel characters in the comics, so it still makes sense.

I just can’t help but wonder if Zola, who “died” in Captain America: The Winter Soldier might be popping back up in the Ant-Man franchise this year, or later on down the line.

Disneyland Paris is getting the biggest Marvel upgrade. The previously announced Disney’s Hotel New York–The Art of Marvel will open in 2020. The Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster is being reimagined “as a high-speed, hyper-kinetic adventure where guests can team up with Iron Man and the Avengers.” Before that, Disneyland Paris will launch the Marvel Summer of Super Heroes this June.
