For the first time ever, a Phase One movie from Marvel Studios could be released in 4K Ultra HD. There is a rumor that The Incredible Hulk will be among several titles re-released by Universal in the 4K format this April, just two months shy of the film’s 10th anniversary.

Disney only just started releasing Marvel Studios titles in 4K last year, beginning with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The studio has not gone back and reissued any previous Marvel titles in 4K UHD, but many believe they will this year for the 10th anniversary of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The Incredible Hulk is a separate case. Universal distributed the film theatrically in 2008 (before Disney bought Marvel in 2009) and maintains the rights to all home entertainment distribution.

The forgotten film in MCU canon is going to be looking better than ever, so we’ll have to see if its Phase One and Phase Two counterparts get the opportunity to catch up this year.
