Thor: Ragnarok is winding down its box office run, but it still had one mini-milestone left to conquer. This weekend, the film surpassed $850 million worldwide. All three Marvel Studios releases from 2017 were able to hit that mark.
Thor: Ragnarok will finish as the third highest grossing superhero movie of 2017. With $850.8M worldwide, it will end its run behind only Marvel Studios’ own Spider-Man: Homecoming ($880.2M) and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 ($863.7M).
The third Thor movie will continue making money, but is unlikely to pick up enough to match either of the other 2017 Marvel Cinematic Universe entries in front of it. Regardless, it’s been a terrific run for Ragnarok as part of an incredible year for Marvel Studios.
Thor: Ragnarok is headed home via Digital HD/4K UHD on February 20 and Blu-ray/4K UHD disc on March 6.
