Black Widow (current odds of dying: 125 to 1, improved from 25 to 1)

And now we have the first original Avenger in the dead pool! We all know about expiring contracts and the topic will come up again on this list. Black Widow (Scarlet Johansson) is a founding member of the MCU’s Avengers and in immediate danger in the Battle of Wakanda.

Natasha Romanoff’s fortunes have changed significantly since the first iteration of this list. The Black Widow movie is finally moving forward. It could be a prequel, so we can’t say for certain that Natasha is safe, but I think the movie will be set, at least partially, in the present.

Natasha should be okay.

Thor (odds of dying: 100 to 1)

We’ve hit another expiring contract, but Thor (Chris Hemsworth) has a brand new lease on life after Thor: Ragnarok. Director Taika Waititi wants to make another Thor film and seeing as how he successfully reimagined the franchise, he will probably get his wish. Hemsworth is open to more Marvel adventures, so long as he and Waititi can find another story to tell.

There is the matter of several dead Asgardians in the trailer, however, so maybe Thor’s new beginning is really just the beginning of the end. Thor is the most likely of the original Avengers to survive, but he’s still at risk.

Korg (odds of dying: 75 to 1)

We don’t see him in the Avengers: Infinity War trailers, but Korg (Taika Waititi) has to be there. He’s aboard the Asgardian refugee ship that Thanos attacks. He could escape via the Tesseract, just as Bruce Banner and Valkyrie probably will, but it’s less of a guarantee. It’s easy to seem him in a follow-up to Thor: Ragnarok, but it’s also possible that this sweet character will meet his end to show just how twisted and powerful Thanos is.

Okoye (odds of dying: 50 to 1)

The Battle of Wakanda is going to be way too big and way too brutal for all of the heroes to survive. There will be Outriders and at least a couple Children of Thanos (and The Mad Titan himself) to contend with and we see Okoye (Danai Gurira) leading the Wakandan army with Captain America (Chris Evans), Black Panther, and more Avengers. As a member of the Dora Milaje, Okoye will be willing to do anything to protect her home, and her king. Her life could be the price she has to pay. Fortunately for her, she is not the most likely character to die in this battle.

Wong (odds of dying: 40 to 1)

Wong (Benedict Wong) could be an early casualty in Avengers: Infinity War. He is a powerful Master of the Mystic Arts, which will put a target on his back that is too big to ignore. He probably survives to be further developed in the Doctor Strange franchise, but Stephen Strange better watch Wong’s back just in case.
