You’re never too young to care about protecting the planet. Nine-year-old Jack Davis knows this and was ready answer the call from NASA when the position of Planetary Protection Officer needed to be filled. Jack, who made sure to note on his application that he is a Guardian of the Galaxy, made sure NASA knew that he was ready to step up.

In addition to being a Guardian of the Galaxy, Jack has seen pretty much all the space movies and episodes of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. required of any individual who hopes to protect Earth. Plus, his status as an actual alien, as verified by his sister, gives him strengths in diplomacy that no other candidate could hope to match.

Regrettably, child labor laws prevent NASA from hiring the best candidate, so they’ll have to settle for Jack’s runner up. In the meantime, Jack can spend his days watching more space movies and taking a science class or two just to pad his already interstellar résumé.
