Nothing goes over his head, except maybe movie scripts. We have known Dave Bautista is reprising his role as Drax in Avengers: Infinity War for a number of months. Some fans got a glimpse of Drax alongside an Avenger, Thor (Chris Hemsworth), for the very first time when footage from Infinity War was shown at D23 Expo and Comic-Con last month.
Being in the film, however, does not make Bautista any less of a fan, as he explained on Twitter why he hasn’t read the script for a movie he’s already shot.

Bautista would have read the pages of the script that feature Drax in order to know his lines. That much we can safely assume, but he’s not the only one whose knowledge of the script is limited to his own character. Tom Holland has joked about only being given the pages pertaining to Spider-Man because he’s so bad at keeping secrets.
It’s great to see the people making these films being true fans as well. Bautista certainly has more willpower than the average fan, though, as I don’t know how many of the Marvel faithful would pass on reading the Avengers: Infinity War script if offered. His patience will payoff when he sits down to experience much of the film for the very first time at the premiere (presumably next April), or sometime just a bit sooner.
Avengers: Infinity War is in theaters May 4, 2018.
