Avengers: Infinity War is currently in production in Atlanta and other cities in Georgia. As usual, Marvel Studios needs a lot of extras to fill out its scenes and a new casting call suggests that at least part of the film could take places at a famous Marvel Cinematic Universe location. The Avengers, or maybe Thanos (Josh Brolin), could be headed to Asgard.

Marvel is looking for men and women who appear to be in the broad age range of 18 to 50s. The studio is especially seeking men with long hair and beards who comfortable with fake blood and special effects makeup. The added Asgardian kicker is that applicants are supposed to put “VIKING” in the subject line of their email to the casting agency.

Long hair, plus beards, plus “VIKING” certainly sounds like Asgard and with Thor expected to be in the mix, there is a very good chance Avengers: Infinity War will be the first unimagined trip to his native realm in a team-up film. It does not sound like the visit will be a pleasant one, given all the fake blood. Perhaps Thanos has come to take the Tesseract by force.

The idea of injured Asgardians opens up another possibility besides the Realm Eternal. We don’t even know if Asgard will survive Thor: Ragnarok this November and if it doesn’t, these bloody facial hair aficionados might be located in Hel. It is the realm of the dead after all and could just as easily be a place for some dearly departed demigods.

Thor: Ragnarok villain Hela (Cate Blanchett) is the ruler of Hel and she’s been known to claim Asgardian souls. She has not been confirmed for Avengers: Infinity War, but many (myself included) expect her to be in the film, with serving as the living manifestation of Death whom Thanos courts in The Infinity Gauntlet, one of the biggest comic book sources of inspiration for Infinity War.

The extras will be needed for shooting in Fayetteville, GA from March 31 to April 7, with a few extra days potentially needed for wardrobe fitting and makeup tests. If you are interested and fit the desired description, see the instructions below.

Send an e-mail to, and put VIKING in the subject line. Include your name, phone number, sizes and current photo(s).

Avengers: Infinity War is due in theaters May 4, 2018.
