Director Taika Waititi has shared a new, behind-the-scenes photo of Thor (Chris Hemsworth) from one of two upcoming productions featuring The God of Thunder.
The first assumption is that this is Hemsworth having a bit of fun with some props from Thor: Ragnarok, but given that Mjolnir is seated in a high chair and the photo is credited to Darryl Jacobson (Daley Pearson), this is more likely Team Thor: Part 2.
Jacobson, as you’ll remember, is Thor’s roommate in Australia from the first Team Thor short that debuted at Comic-Con before being attached to the Captain America: Civil War Digital HD release last year. Team Thor: Part 2 will be attached to the Doctor Strange home release on February 14 (Digital HD) and February 28 (Blu-ray).
To Thor’s right appears to be our first look at Jarnbjorn, the legendary Asgardian battle axe Thor used before earning (and sometimes after losing) the right to wield Mjolnir. Jarnbjorn may not get all of that comic book back story in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but we know from the Thor: Ragnarok synopsis that Thor loses his hammer in the film. It looks like he’ll be picking up an axe as a temporary fix. Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) is sure to get an up close and personal look at Jarnbjorn when he and Thor have their Avengers rematch in Ragnarok.
Thor: Ragnarok is in theaters November 3.
