It’s been another fantastic year for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel Studios released two films, Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange, both of which received critical acclaim on their way to big box office success. Marvel Television released two seasons on Netflix, Daredevil and Luke Cage, both of which received their own share of love from critics and audiences. Now, all four projects are being recognized by the Screen Actors Guild.

Earlier today, the nominees for the SAG Awards were announced. The Marvel Cinematic Universe drew four nominations. Captain America: Civil War and Doctor Strange were each nominated for Best Stunt Ensemble in a Motion Picture while Daredevil and Luke Cage were each nominated for Best Stunt Ensemble in a Comedy or Drama Series. Collectively, they were the only superhero projects nominated in either category.

It’s great that the SAG Awards offer recognition for the stunt teams that are so vital to the making of these films. They are often overlooked since we’re never really supposed to notice when they’re on the screen, but the stunt teams are essential in bringing our favorite Marvel heroes to life. They’re usually the ones lifting those big, action-packed splash pages from the comics and putting them on the silver screen.

Congratulations to Marvel Studios, Marvel Television, and the stunt teams that were nominated!
