Marvel Studios is preparing the release of the first trailer for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. The British Board of Film Classification has already classified the trailer, which clocks in at one minute and twenty-nine seconds. That the trailer has already been classified means it will be available for our online consumption in the near future.

The logical assumption is that the trailer will be attached to Doctor Strange, which opens in some territories as soon as October 25. That means we could be seeing the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer pop up online within the next week. It makes sense for Marvel Studios to use its current release to promote its next one.

Marvel also has a pattern of releasing trailers for its May releases (GotG Vol. 2 opens May 5, 2017) in October of the prior year. That pattern and the impending release of Doctor Strange are why we predicted an October debut for the first Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 trailer several weeks back.

Dropping the trailer in October also makes good on director James Gunn’s promise that fans would see it before Christmas.
