Marvel’s Thor: Ragnarok will definitely see one reunion and possibly another of epic proportions. Sam Neill, who just starred in director Taika Waititi’s current film — Hunt for the Wilderpeople, will reunite with the filmmaker in Ragnarok. Neill shared the news with ShortList while doing press for Wilderpeople.
“Oddly enough, I’m not really allowed to say this and I can’t tell you what it is, I am actually, I did a couple of days on Thor [Ragnarok] just before I came over here. But I had to sign all sorts of things that if I say anything else, Marvel’s secret agents, and they are lethal, will come and get me and probably my children as well.”
Since Neill obviously can’t say anything about his role, all we can do is speculate. The first thought that comes to mind, of course, is the potential for a Jurassic Park reunion between Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum, who is playing the Grandmaster in Thor: Ragnarok. The thought of Dr. Alan Grant and Dr. Ian Malcolm (or rather the actors who played them) coming together in the Marvel Cinematic Universe seems to good to pass up.
Given that Neill only spent a couple of days on set, it’s likely his role is small enough that Marvel Studios will be able to keep it under wraps until Thor: Ragnarok is released on November 3, 2017.
