Captain America: Civil War is only just coming out on home release, but directors Joe and Anthony Russo have already been hard at work on their next two films, Avengers: Infinity War and its untitled Avengers follow-up for a number of months.
Today, the directors have taken to Instagram to provide the first look at what they’ve been up to. It’s not much, but it is the first rehearsal photo presumably from Avengers: Infinity War. There is only a camera, a couple platforms and no real set, but someone has dawned a performance capture suit.
Could this be some early testing for Thanos or some other CG/performance capture character? It might be, or it could be general visual reference for almost anyone else, even characters that might not be CG in the film. That said, the guy in the performance capture suit kind of looks like Josh Brolin, who of course is playing Thanos, but it’s hard to say for sure.
Your guess is as good as mine, so let me know what you think in the comments. Meanwhile, The Russo Brothers have also updated the cover photo of their Facebook page with an impressive title card for Avengers: Infinity War.
Marvel’s Captain America: Civil War is already available on Digital HD and is coming out on Blu-ray September 13. Avengers: Infinity War is due in theaters May 4, 2018 and the untitled Avengers movie will arrive on May 3, 2019.
