Call it a hat trick for Marvel Studios news on this Marvelous Monday. The Wrap has reported and director Taika Waititi has confirmed that Mark Mothersbaugh will compose the score for Thor: Ragnarok. Mothersbaugh is best known as the frontman for Devo, but has also scored The Lego Movie, 21 Jump Street, and Rushmore among other film and television projects. Waititi confirmed the news with a tweet.

This is an inspired choice by Waititi and Marvel Studios. The franchise has previously been scored by Patrick Doyle (Thor) and Brian Tyler (Thor: The Dark World). We can probably expect a very new sound for the God of Thunder when Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters on November 3, 2017.
