Michael B. Jordan has become the second Human Torch to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe! According to The Hollywood Reporter, Jordan has signed on to play an unknown, possibly villainous role in Marvel’s Black Panther. Jordan will be reunited with Black Panther director and co-writer Ryan Coogler after Jordan starred in the latter’s Fruitvale Station and Creed. The outstanding actor will be a great addition to the cast, regardless of the role.
Jordan is no stranger to superhero films, having already made Chronicle and last year’s Fantastic Four. Both Jordan and Chris Evans (Captain America) have played Human Torch in the FF franchise before making their way to the MCU. Marvel’s Black Panther is quickly reaching an embarrassing amount of riches when it comes to casting, as the film will star Chadwick Boseman, who can already be seen in the title role in Captain America: Civil War, and Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) is in talks to join.
Marvel’s Black Panther, written by Coogler and Joe Robert Cole, will begin production early next year and be released on February 16, 2018.
