Marvel Studios is negotiating with Nicole Perlman and Meg LeFauve to co-write CAPTAIN MARVEL, due in theaters July 6, 2018. CAPTAIN MARVEL is the studio’s first female-driven film and Perlman and LeFauve are being paired together after impressing Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige with their own separate takes. Now, Marvel hopes to assemble the final script with the best of each.
Nicole Perlman is no stranger to Marvel. As a member of the studio’s in-house screenwriting program, Perlman was the first to develop a story for last year’s smash hit GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY and ultimately served as a co-writer of the screenplay. She knows the Marvel Cinematic Universe with an emphasis on its cosmic side, making her an outstanding candidate for CAPTAIN MARVEL.
LeFauve is the co-writer of Disney/Pixar’s INSIDE OUT, which audiences will see beginning June 19. INSIDE OUT has very strong buzz so it’s not surprising to see LeFauve being high on Marvel’s list.
Now all we need is a director and an actress to star as Carol Danvers, a.k.a. CAPTAIN MARVEL.
