Last night, Marvel held the world premiere for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. The stars of the film strolled down the red carpet on Hollywood Blvd. en route to the Dolby Theatre. Director James Gunn and producer Kevin Feige were in attendance along with stars Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Vin Diesel (Groot), Michael Rooker (Yondu), Glenn Close (Nova Prime), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Lee Pace (Ronan), and more!
Fans who spent hours waiting for pictures and autographs were rewarded not only by the stars, but Marvel. Ryan Penagos, perhaps better known as Agent M, and other members of the Marvel crew gave away Star-Lord Quad Blasters and copies of the deluxe edition GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY soundtrack.
If you missed last night’s fun or wish to relive it, Marvel has released images and video from the event, including the entire 2 hours of red carpet coverage. I’ve also included a few photos I was able to take as the stars were arriving and signing autographs. Check out all the media below and get ready for GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY in theaters on August 1.
From Marvel, the studio that brought you the global blockbuster franchises of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America and The Avengers, comes a new team—the Guardians of the Galaxy. An action-packed, epic space adventure, Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” expands the Marvel Cinematic Universe into the cosmos, where brash adventurer Peter Quill finds himself the object of an unrelenting bounty hunt after stealing a mysterious orb coveted by Ronan, a powerful villain with ambitions that threaten the entire universe. To evade the ever-persistent Ronan, Quill is forced into an uneasy truce with a quartet of disparate misfits—Rocket, a gun-toting raccoon, Groot, a tree-like humanoid, the deadly and enigmatic Gamora and the revenge-driven Drax the Destroyer. But when Quill discovers the true power of the orb and the menace it poses to the cosmos, he must do his best to rally his ragtag rivals for a last, desperate stand—with the galaxy’s fate in the balance.
